Where they live, and how to keep them safe.
On your phone or computer. Not on our servers.
On your own phone or computer, inside the browser (or the installed app) you use for Hesafi. They are not stored on our servers, so we can't see them. The only things that reach our servers are your licence activation, AI requests you choose to run, and payments.
Restore your backup. Without one, they're gone.
Then the books on that device are gone, unless you have a backup. Backups are free: one tap saves an encrypted .hesafi file locked with your passphrase and a recovery key. Keep a copy somewhere else (email it to yourself, Google Drive, a flash disk). We can't open your backup and we can't recover a lost passphrase or recovery key.
Yes, once it has loaded.
Once Hesafi has loaded, you can record sales, expenses and invoices with no connection. You need the internet only to activate a licence, buy credits or use AI help.
On up to 3 devices, but books don't sync yet.
A licence can be activated on up to 3 devices. But your books do not sync between devices yet: each device has its own copy. To move your books, save a backup on one device and restore it on the other. Use one main device for daily work. Sync is coming as part of Hesafi Care.
Yes, in Safari.
Add Hesafi to your home screen (Share → Add to Home Screen). If you don't, Safari may delete a website's stored data after 7 days without use, so on iPhone the home-screen app and regular backups matter.
We measure our ads with Meta. Never anything from your books.
On this website, Meta's pixel records the pages you view and the buttons you tap, so we can tell which ads work. It never runs in the app where your books live, or on the M-PESA converter and invoice generator. You can opt out in this browser in one click.
What Hesafi does for your tax records, and what it doesn't.
No. Use KRA's free eTIMS tools to issue them.
Hesafi doesn't issue or submit eTIMS invoices. If you must issue them, use KRA's free eTIMS tools. Hesafi keeps the records iTax checks: the supplier's PIN and eTIMS invoice number for each purchase, and it shows which purchases are missing them.
No. It prepares workings; you or your accountant file.
Hesafi prepares tax workings (turnover tax, VAT, income tax, monthly rental income) from your books. You or your accountant check them and file on iTax. The tax figures are estimates while a qualified adviser verifies this year's rates. Filing turnover tax and nil returns through KRA's GavaConnect comes with Hesafi Care once KRA approves it.
No app can promise that. Hesafi shows what's missing.
Only invoices that KRA holds in eTIMS count, so no app can promise that. What Hesafi does is show you, purchase by purchase, which expenses are missing an eTIMS invoice number or a valid supplier PIN, so you can ask the supplier before you file.

The full M-PESA statement PDF that Safaricom sends to your email (dial *334# → My Account → M-PESA Statement, or use the M-PESA app). Safaricom sends the password for each statement by SMS. Importing statements is part of the Standard licence; you can try the free M-PESA to Excel tool first.

Yes. KES 3,500 once. No subscription.
Standard is KES 3,500 once (the founding price until 30 April 2027; then KES 4,999), with 12 months of Hesafi Care. Your version keeps working for as long as you like. There is no subscription.
Yes. Start free; the free plan has no time limit.
The free plan includes unlimited invoices, manual bookkeeping, basic reports and encrypted backups. When you buy Standard, you have 30 days to ask for a full refund.
It keeps working. Hesafi Care is optional.
Your version keeps working, forever, and so do your backups. Hesafi Care brings new versions and tax tables, sync between devices when it ships, KRA filing once KRA approves it, priority WhatsApp help and 1,000 AI credits a year. Keep it for KES 2,000 a year or KES 200 a month by M-PESA.

Pay with M-PESA (an STK push to your phone) or by card, both through Paystack. Your licence key is sent to you by email.
Yes, in full within 30 days.
Licences can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Unused AI credits can be refunded within 14 days. Ask us on WhatsApp or by email with your order reference.

The features that make Pro worth more aren't finished, and we won't sell them before they are. Ask us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you when it's ready.

We keep your email only as a one-way fingerprint, so support can find your licence from it and help you. Message us on WhatsApp or by email.
Optional help, paid per task. You see the cost first.
Some optional tasks, like suggesting categories for lines no rule recognised, use AI and cost credits. You see the cost before anything runs. Credits never expire, and your bookkeeping never stops at zero credits. Only what the task needs is sent (for example the descriptions and amounts of the lines you pick, and your category names), through our server to an AI service provider that may not train on it or keep it. Never your whole ledger, balances or business name.

Not for your books. For tax returns, it helps.
Hesafi is made for owners who aren't accountants. For tax returns, a qualified accountant or tax adviser is always a good idea, and Hesafi gives them clean records and an Excel export.
